Our Learning Pathways

Here at Facial Aesthetic Courses, we offer two learning pathways. These pathways are designed to allow everyone interested a chance to join a course. Each pathway has been designed to allow everyone an equal opportunity to join a course. Our aesthetics courses are split into two certificates: Up-skilling and Development Certification for Insure & Indemnity and Formal Training Pathway for compliance and competency (Ofqual level 7) in line with HEE Guidelines.

Learning Pathway 1

Up-skilling & development Certification for Insure & Indemnity – this course is split between e-learning and practical work. Both will be used in conjunction with each other to ensure you are given a rounded learning experience. The practical work will be done with a member of our friendly team. They will give you all the advice and help that you need. After the practical work, the e-learning is used to back up what you have learned in class. The practical part of the course is split into four separate sections. These include:

  • Botulinum Toxin

This is an upper and lower face teaching. It is a one-day practical course with live patient injections.

  • Dermal Filler 1

This is similar to Botulinum Toxin. It is an upper and lower face teaching course that also has live patient injections.

  • Lip and Perioral Masterclass

During this time more advanced techniques are introduced. There will also be live patient injections.

  • Advanced Aesthetic Masterclass

You will learn full face advanced techniques. Again, there will be live patients there for injection.

  • Online modules that support practical courses to ensure that participants can keep up with the practical class and understand the theories of the courses.
  • Solo E-learning course. We expect you to learn for yourself and use your medical background to your advantage.
  • We include video content for self-tuition. Again, we give you the necessary tools to work yourself.
  • Test of knowledge and Verifiable CPD.
  • 20 CE credits at the end of the course.

Learning Pathway 2

Competency (Ofqual Level 7 Injectables) in line with HEE Guidelines. Like our first learning pathway, this is split between both practical work and e-learning. The e-learning is designed to be completed in conjunction with the practical element of the course. This will ensure that you understand the theories and methods behind the practical work. By understanding both elements you will gain a fully comprehensive knowledge of injectable treatments. The practical element of this course includes:

  • Botulinum Toxin

This is an upper and lower face teaching. It is a one-day practical course with live patient injections.

  • Dermal Filler 1

This is similar to Botulinum Toxin: it is an upper and lower face teaching course. That also has live patient injections.

  • Mentoring and Support

You will undergo 40 mentored clinical cases, then be assessed on your competency when it comes to injectable treatments. After this, you will receive feedback and conduct self-reflection.

  • Assessment

once all the work is complete you will have 34 written assignments, together with an OSCE examination to assess knowledge and practical ability.

Along with the practical elements of the course, you may find the e-learning to be demanding. The e-learning is more intense and includes much more information. However, we include this information to ensure you pass the assessments. Here at Facial Aesthetic Courses, we want all our participants to pass with flying colours. We believe we provide the appropriate amount of information to ensure you pass and enjoy the course. Our e-learning attached to this learning pathways is OFQUAL (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) approved. The course is made up of eight modules that all need to be completed. These include:

  • Unit 2: Principles of treatment in aesthetic medicine

  • Unit 5: Principles of botulinum toxin in aesthetic medicine
  • Unit 6: Practice of botulinum toxin in aesthetic medicine
  • Unit 7: Principles of dermal fillers in aesthetic medicine
  • Unit 8: Practice of dermal fillers in aesthetic medicine

All of these units need to be completes whilst you carry out the practical element of the course. You will be mentored during the time you are on the course, which means that if you have any questions or worries, your mentor will be there to give you a helping hand.
